Preschool 101

Applications 2025-26 preschool and prekindergarten are now open.

We are committed to preparing your child for success by supporting their intellectual, emotional and social development needs in a positive and nurturing environment. We provide a play-based developmentally appropriate curriculum, and our programs are Four-Star Parent Aware rated. We offer preschool for children 3 years old and prekindergarten for 4-year-olds. Our prekindergarten program is free for students and families who meet eligibility requirements, with priority given to Richfield school district residents who meet eligibility requirements set by the Minnesota Department of Education. Applications will be processed in the order received. Register with Paper Forms: Registration can be completed by filling out the Richfield Early Learning Programs Application:

• Preschool for 3's Application (English) (Spanish)
• Prekindergarten for 4's Application (English) (Spanish)

Enrollment packets are also available at any of our elementary schools or at the Central Education Center. You can also request an enrollment packet be mailed to you by calling us at 612-243-3007 or emailing us at earlylearning@rpsmn.org. Forms may be returned in the following ways:

• Email them to earlylearning@rpsmn.org
• Fax them to 612-243-3067
• Drop them off at the Central Education Center (7145 Harriet Avenue South)

NOTE: Applications will not be processed until we receive all completed information. A copy of your child’s immunizations, birth certificate and early childhood screening will be required before starting school.
