Welcome to the Media Center
The resource links in the left-hand column are organized by subject and grade level. The Grade Level Math and Language Arts section includes a link to Sheridan Hills' online catalog if you want to see if we have a particular book. The Technology Links include typing games and programs, coding, and art activities.
I am in my second year at Sheridan Hills after working at the University of Minnesota Law Library for almost ten years. I love working with this age group and am excited to share my love of research and reading with them. A typical day in the Sheridan Hills Media Center begins with students coming in before school to check out books, build with Legos, blocks or tiles, or draw. Kindergarten through third grade visits the Media Center once a week for book check out and a short lesson. Fourth and fifth grade classes come every day to learn about digital citizenship, the research process, technology, and literature.
I strive to collaborate with each grade level team to ensure the time spent in the library is beneficial, fun, and supports the curriculum. I hope to inspire a love of reading and life-long learning, to empower students to be responsible and efficient users of technology and information, and to prepare students to excel in the area of media skills, digital resources, and research.
Please come and visit the Media Center anytime!
