Mrs. Chris Awbrey - Math/STEM

I began my career in Education by teaching  K-12th graders at the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul.  For the last nineteen years, it has been my pleasure to work with upper elementary students at Richfield Public Schools, teaching 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders.  I have enjoyed the diversity of our community and the opportunity to meet families from many different countries. I hold a Certificate of Biblical Arts from Northwestern University, a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University, a Graduate Certificate in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, as well as a Master of Arts from St. Catherine University. This past summer I completed my K-5 Math Certificate at Hamline University.  I am enjoying teaching 4th and 5th graders STEM principles and working with 2nd and 4th graders in math.

I earned my BA in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Right out of college I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I taught third grade for five years. After that, I got the opportunity to teach gifted students as a Gifted Resource Teacher for the next five years. During that time, I got my Masters in Educational Administration. I had my son in 2015 and my husband and I decided to move back to Minnesota to be closer to family. I enjoy running and hanging out with my family.
