This week brought an unexpected bit of joy to our district. A small package arrived from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), filled with handwritten postcards from students. These notes were collected at the Minnesota State Fair through the “Thank an Educator” project, where visitors shared messages of appreciation for school staff.
MDE shared that this year’s fair brought in more thank-you notes than ever before, which they called a testament to the caring, qualified educators and staff across Minnesota.
Inside the package were messages written to staff right here in Richfield. Some were sweet, some were funny and all were heartfelt.

We had a special visit from students at Central Education that brought a bright spark of joy to our Richfield High School classrooms.
