What started as an idea to get more books into the hands of readers turned into an incredible show of generosity from the Richfield community.
For his National Honor Society leadership project, Richfield High School senior Frank Dallum organized a book drive with a goal of collecting books to give away for free at Penn Fest. Community members responded in a big way, donating more than 2,000 books for Frank to share with children, families and readers of all ages.
At Penn Fest, community members were invited to browse the collection and take home books at no cost, giving hundreds of donated books a new home while helping make reading more accessible throughout the community.
The project was about more than collecting books. From organizing donations to preparing for the giveaway, Frank turned an idea into an opportunity to serve his community and bring people together around a shared love of reading.
Thank you to everyone who donated books and helped make the project such a success. And congratulations to Frank for demonstrating leadership through service and making a positive impact in the Richfield community!
