Lighting Up Our Community: Celebrating Community Education
On National Community Education Day, we’re thrilled to recognize the talented members of our Community Education team at Richfield Public Schools. Their dedication brings enriching programs, lifelong learning and joyful moments to our families, students, staff and community. We asked some of them to tell us about their jobs:
Abby DuBe
Abby has been part of the Richfield community for ten years, planning engaging classes for youth and their families. She loves the welcoming spirit of every school and finds joy in working with the families and youth who make her job so rewarding.
Jenelle Bullen
Jenelle is in her fourth year as Early Learning Coordinator. “I enjoy working in programs that authentically serve children and families,” she shared. “Richfield allows (and encourages) me to work to make early learning programs that serve ALL families. We strive to break down barriers to participation so our programs are accessible to every family in the district.” Jenelle also expresses gratitude for her supervisor, Rachel Gens, from whom she continues to learn daily.
Amy Skare-Klecker
At the Central Education Center, Amy enjoys seeing all ages participate in the programs. “I love working with my team,” shared Amy, “and I love interacting with all of the staff and families at the Central Education Center.”
Nicole Stodola
Nicole lights up whenever she sees the little ones in our programs. She values the warm, patient atmosphere at Richfield Public Schools and enjoys working alongside such welcoming colleagues.
Joliene Litwinczuk
With six months in her current role after five years as a PreK paraprofessional, Joliene enjoys the variety in her work and the connections she builds with people in the community. Her supportive, fun coworkers make every day better.
A Typical Day in Community Education
The staff in Community Education like to use the phrase: We keep the lights on!
“When school is not in session, our team ensures the fun and learning keep going,” explained Abby DuBe.
“Every day brings something new—from organizing after school enrichment classes, driver’s education and swim lessons to hosting family events and parent-child classes, there’s always something exciting happening,” said Amy. “Our department provides engaging programs for all ages, creating opportunities for everyone in the community to learn and grow.”
No two days are alike, but each one is filled with meaningful moments and enriching activities for Richfield families. Thank you, Community Education team, for lighting up our community!
