It's National Community Education Day!

Happy Richfield Community Education Day!

National Community Education Day is the second Thursday of November each year. It’s a moment to celebrate the educators, learners, staff and dedicated community members who make our urban hometown a vibrant place to learn and grow! Thank you for sharing your talents, pursuing your goals and building this community alongside us.

Richfield Community Education supports learners of all ages—from our youngest residents just starting their journey to adults pursuing lifelong passions. They are here to help every member of our community learn, grow and excel.

Here are some of the ways Richfield Community Education is currently serving our community:

  • Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE): Offering a strong foundation for learning through support for families with young children right here in Richfield.
  • Preschool: Providing high-quality early education programs that prepare children for kindergarten success in Richfield Public Schools.
  • Adult Basic Education (ABE): Helping adults in Richfield improve literacy, gain skills for work, prepare for citizenship and participate fully in our civic life (in partnership with Metro South).
  • Aquatics: Hosting swim lessons, water safety programs and aquatic fitness for all ages at the Richfield Middle School pool.
  • Youth & Adult Enrichment: Offering fun, flexible classes and activities where you can learn a new skill, pursue a hobby (like art, fitness or driver education) and make new connections.
  • School Age Care: New this year! Kid Zone is our afterschool program at Centennial Elementary.
  • Adults with Disabilities: Creating unique enrichment classes and social opportunities for adults (18+) with developmental disabilities (in partnership with Metro South).

We are truly honored to have a vibrant Community Education program in Richfield, and we are grateful to all the Community Education staff, Community Education Advisory Council, and our many participants who make it possible.
