ECFE at the Fair
ECFE at the Fair
If you attended the Minnesota State Fair this year, you may have seen some friendly Richfield faces! Our Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) team had a fantastic time meeting families and sharing information. Our ECFE teacher, Shanyn Hill, said about the experience: "We shared resources with families on the importance of spending time in nature with regards to child development, in addition to ways that they can extend learning outdoors with their children at home."
Learning starts well before a child enters kindergarten, which is why we offer programs to help parents and caregivers create learning environments for young children. Our birth to age 5 programming offers everything from one-time drop-in events, to targeted interventions to support children wherever they are in their developmental journey. You can browse the current ECFE classes being offered by Richfield Community Education by clicking here.
We were thrilled to have had the opportunity to attend the Minnesota State Fair and spread awareness of ECFE to families who may not have heard of it. Our staff enjoyed reading stories and singing songs with the children in attendance and connecting with their caregivers on how their parenting journey was going.

We believe that all students should experience academic rigor and a pace that is challenging but doable. This is what makes our Talent Development program different from a traditional Gifted and Talented model.
Technology helps level the playing field for students who learn differently. Features like closed-captioning, voice-to-text and the ability to record voice and video are all readily available and support all learners.
Our elementary summer program was a success! Students enjoyed learning, playing games and participating in exciting, hands-on activities. As students explored and learned, they also built lasting connections with their teachers and peers, making the summer both educational and fun-filled.
