Dr. Latanya Daniels Named Superintendent of District One91
Dear RPS Community,
It is with great pride and bittersweet emotion that I share the news that Dr. Latanya Daniels has been offered the position of Superintendent of Schools for District One91 (Burnsville–Eagan–Savage). This is a tremendous opportunity for Dr. Daniels and a well-deserved next step in her leadership journey. While we will miss her deeply, we are thrilled to see her continue her career in a role where she can positively impact even more students and families.
Dr. Daniels joined our District in 2015 as principal of Richfield High School and stepped into the role of Assistant Superintendent in 2020. Over the years, she has played a pivotal role in advancing our equity work, strengthening inclusive practices, and driving academic excellence. Her thoughtful leadership and unwavering commitment to student success have made a lasting impact on our schools and community.
We will share more information in the coming weeks about transition planning and leadership coverage. In the meantime, please join me in congratulating Dr. Daniels and wishing her continued success as she prepares to step into her new role.
Sincerely,
Steve Unowsky, Superintendent
