Dec. 8-12 is Inclusive Schools Week

Dec. 8-12 is Inclusive Schools Week

At RPS, we know that our strength lies in our diversity. Our classrooms are vibrant tapestries woven with unique cultures, languages, abilities and perspectives. Inclusive Schools Week is a dedicated time to celebrate this richness and reinforce our commitment to creating learning environments where every child feels valued, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

During Inclusive Schools Week (Dec. 8-12), you'll see our commitment to inclusion come to life in exciting ways across all our schools. From special classroom activities to schoolwide events, our students and staff are actively celebrating what it means to be truly inclusive.

For instance:

  • Media specialists will read books that celebrate differences in learning, cultures and backgrounds.
  • Classroom teachers will discuss what it means to belong, engage in related activities that foster acceptance and friendship among students and staff.
  • Schoolwide activities will focus on fostering acceptance and understanding by having students sign a pledge.

These are just a few examples of how our dedicated educators and enthusiastic students are embracing the spirit of inclusion this week. We encourage you to check your individual school's communications for specific details on their Inclusive Schools Week activities!

Inclusive Schools Week is more than just a dedicated timeframe; it's a powerful reminder of our ongoing commitment to inclusive education. Every day at Richfield Public Schools, we strive to build a community where every student is seen, heard, respected and given the tools they need to succeed.

We invite all families and community members to reflect on the importance of inclusion and how we can all contribute to an even more welcoming and equitable environment for everyone.

Thank you for being a part of the Richfield Public Schools family, where every student belongs!
