Celebrating RPS Retiree Karen Redlin

Celebrating RPS Retiree Karen Redlin

After 31 exceptional years, Karen Redlin is retiring from Richfield Public Schools, leaving behind a profound legacy across Spartan, Centennial, and Sheridan Hills Elementary schools. Karen initially taught 5th and 6th grade before discovering her true passion in primary education, dedicating her career to teaching 1st and 2nd grade, as well as serving as a Reading Recovery Teacher and Reading Specialist to help children develop confidence in literacy.

A proud Brooklyn Center native and U of M Gophers alumna, Karen loves sports, reading and exploring the outdoors. In retirement, she is looking forward to visiting the Redlin farm in Montana, traveling, and "having more time for the people, places, and activities that bring me joy."

Rather than naming a single favorite memory, Karen leaves our district with a deeply touching statement of hope for those continuing the work: “I wish you enough patience for the difficult days, enough joy to celebrate the little victories, enough support to remind you that you are never alone, and enough meaningful moments with children to continually renew your passion for teaching. Most of all, I wish you enough love for this profession to always remember the incredible difference you make in the lives of students every single day.”

Thank you, Karen, for over three decades of heart, wisdom, and leadership. We wish you a beautiful retirement filled with quiet hiking trails, scenic waterfalls, and "enough" of everything wonderful!

We are grateful to all of our retirees for their dedicated service and contributions to Richfield Public Schools. Each retiree featured on our website and social media channels was contacted individually and chose the level of recognition they preferred. Not all retirees opted to be recognized.
