The 2025-26 District calendar is here!
The 2025-26 District calendar is here!
At the school board meeting on Tuesday, February 18, the superintendent and school board approved the calendar as it was presented by the calendar committee, which received input from families and school staff across the District.
The recommendations are also based on state requirements and factors such as required testing dates set by the Minnesota Department of Education and minimum instructional days. The calendar committee is composed of parents/guardians, teachers, principals and other District staff.
Things to note:
- Students in grades 6-12+ will start the school year on Tuesday, Sept. 2, and students in grades PreK-5 will start on Wednesday, Sept. 3.
- Families with children in grades PreK-5 will receive information over the summer about Connect & Assess meetings that will take place at their child’s school between Thursday, Aug. 28 and Tuesday, Sept. 2. These brief meetings are an opportunity for you and your child to meet one-on-one with your classroom teacher prior to the start of school. You can ask questions, tour the classroom and begin to build a relationship with your child’s new teacher.
- The last day of school for the 2025-26 school year will be on Friday, June 5, for students in grades PreK-8 and Thursday, June 4, for students in grades 6-12+. The date for Richfield High School’s commencement ceremony has yet to be finalized.
- We do not include testing dates on the PDF calendar, as these can vary and do not apply to all students or all grade levels. You can find information on testing and assessments on the Testing & Assessments web page, which is updated annually and includes the dates and student grade level for each assessment.
We want to thank all of the members of the calendar committee for their hard work.
