“Emily is an incredible student who works hard to achieve greatness,” said teacher Erin Huber. “She challenges herself and never discredits her own worth. She looks at all difficult situations with a growth lens and finds creative ways to reach her goals. Emily has strong intrinsic motivation and excellent time management to balance all of the commitments in her life.”
Emily plans to attend Augsburg University and pursue Marketing with a minor in International Business. Traveling has always been on her list of goals, and she hopes to combine travel with a job in digital marketing. Her dream travel destinations are Greece or Italy. “I am going to consistently work hard and take every opportunity I get, and just go for it. I just have to keep reminding myself I am capable of doing the things I want to do in life.”
Emily’s friends would describe her as thoughtful, creative and ambitious. Her favorite thing about school is learning new things and taking on challenges, as well as meeting new people and making friends. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, being outside and working out.
“I am proud of always pushing myself and taking on big challenges.” Emily explained. “Even while going through rough patches, I am always able to pick myself up and stay positive. I have also maintained that balance of committing to school and work while also enjoying my free time. I'm proud of the person I have become so far.”
During her high school career, the teacher that had the biggest impact on Emily was Ms. Huber, her advisory teacher. “She always believed in me and pushed me to reach my goals and reminded me that I could achieve them. She always gives out the best advice when I need it and reminds me to always stay positive. I'm thankful I had her throughout the years because she made such a wonderful impact on me.”
