Tier 1 Instructional Support Child Care

A family attends a Richfield Public Schools open house event

Overview

As part of the Governor's Executive Order, school districts must offer a free childcare option during scheduled school hours for children of Tier 1 workers in Pre-K through grade 5 enrolled in the District.

Our child care option for Tier 1 workers will be an instructional support program that will meet during regular school hours on the days your child is not scheduled for in-person instruction, following the school calendar. This option allows students to attend school every school day as needed. On Wednesdays, all students will join with Fun Club school-age care and receive District staff support for distance learning. You may choose the days you attend, but time is not flexible. Your child must attend the full school hours.

Qualifications

This care is intended for extreme circumstances in which no parent/guardian is at home, due to employment as a critical worker. If the only parent/guardian or both parents/guardians are employed as Tier 1 critical workers (see below) and their child/children are in Pre-K to grade 5 (age 4 -12), you may begin the registration process. Additional details will be sent to those who enroll.
