    COMMENCEMENT PARTICIPATION

     

          I.       PURPOSE

                   The purpose of this policy is to set forth requirements for commencement participation.

         II.       GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY

    It is the policy of the school district that all students who participate in commencement have completed the requirements for graduation.  Except as noted in Section III of this policy, no senior will be allowed to participate in the Commencement Exercises of the Richfield High School unless he / she meets all qualifications for receiving a diploma as outlined in Board Policy 521, Requirements for Graduation.

        III..      COMMENCEMENT PARTICIPATION

    Seniors meeting the requirements specified in Section II of this policy will be eligible to participate in the Commencement Ceremony leading to the awarding of the diploma. Participating students will be required to wear the prescribed cap and gown.

        IV..      PARTICIPATION IN OTHER YEAR-END ACTIVITIES

    Seniors who do not participate in commencement may still participate in all other senior class year-end activities.
