• Students who are eligible for EL services are assigned an EL Level (1-5) and/or newcomer status based on a language assessment (preLAS, WIDA Screener, ACCESS for ELs). EL teachers provide supplemental English Language Development instruction that does not replace core instruction for all students at levels 1-5. EL  teachers collaborate with grade-level teachers through co-planning and PLC work to provide access to content and support language development.
